Volunteer-driver program bills advancing in the legislature

MCOTA and the Volunteer Driver Coalition are backing two bills during the 2021 legislative session to help protect the more than 1,959 volunteer drivers in Minnesota.

• HF586 (Murphy) /SF748 (Jasinski)
  Clearly defines a volunteer driver in law as not “for-hire.”
• HF1716 (Koegel) /SF1766 (Howe)
  Creates a state income tax subtraction for volunteer drivers to reduce their tax liability in Minnesota.
