Speakers

Will Phillips

Will Phillips is state director of AARP Minnesota, a non-profit, non-partisan membership organization with more than 660,000 Minnesota members. He leads AARP staff and volunteers in advocacy, community engagement, and education to help fight for and equip Minnesotans ages 50+ to live their best lives. Will has served AARP in multiple roles, including as senior advisor in the AARP campaigns shop, where he ran national and multistate advocacy campaigns and as associate state director for advocacy with AARP Georgia. Will's passion and experience is in building teams and executing strategies to engage and empower citizens to shape and influence public policy — work that has spanned more than two decades and roles with multiple non-profit, social impact organizations. Will is a native Hoosier and a graduate of Butler University. He resides in Minneapolis with his spouse and children.

Jennie Rowland

Jennie Rowland is a registered member of the Rocky Bay First Nations in Ontario, Canada, and a descendant of the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa in northern Minnesota. She belongs to the Golden Eagle Clan. The Bois Forte Reservation is located about an hour south of the Canadian border. Jennie has spent more than 30 years dispatching and moving people and equipment in a timely manner. She has extended her skills into public transit and has been involved on the ground floor of the program development for Bois Forte Public Transportation, Big Woods Transit, Wii-doo-kaa-ge NEMT, and their new volunteer-driver programs.
